Permaculture is an enormous and complex topic as it essentially has something to say about everything we do. Do not mistake it for some fancy form of organic gardening! At the core are the ethics and principles. When they guide our actions we can begin to work on each of the many aspects of our lives.
What follows are some of the resources that I recommend to get started in Permaculture. Some of the links are to free resources while others are to books. It’s good to get both the big picture and develop specific skill sets as one works their way through understanding permaculture.
Some essential theory
Essence of Permaculture – David Holmgren – a free ebook

Ishmael by Daniel Quinn – the leavers and the takers
Beyond Civilization by Daniel Quinn – a set of simple premises that build, asking how does one exit civilization
